easy guitar riffs

A long-time piano customer of ours recently started learning guitar, and called asking for some easy guitar riffs.  We couldn't think of any titles specifically aimed at easy riffs, we think because a lot of riffs are pretty easy to play once someone shows you how.  But two items came to mind that might be particularly good for a beginner.  For easy guitar riffs as part of a general program to learn the guitar we like the Rhythm Riffs book that is part of the Hal Leonard Guitar Method.  We also like Riffs - How to Create and Play Great Guitar Riffs.

A customer wanted a book of guitar riffs.  We referred him to our guitar licks and riffs home page where he found a favorite book of guitar riffs titled Rhythm Riffs, which is part of the Hal Leonard Guitar Method series.

We get a lot of calls for guitar licks but the other day a customer called looking for guitar pedal steel licks.  We carry a really good guide for guitar pedal steel licks titled Pedal Steel Licks for Guitar, and it's available as a book with CD or as a DVD.

lyrics to gertrude mcfuzz

A customer gave us a call looking for the lyrics to gertrude mcfuzz, the girl-bird who learns to like herself just as she is, from the classic Dr. Seuss story.  The G. Schirmer vocal score for Dr. Suess's Gertrude McFuzz is one of our favorites, and a great source for the lyrics to gertrude mcfuzz.

We love licks, so when a customer called asking for a source of blues licks we had lots to share.  We referred him to these favorite titles on blues licks.  See more licks for blues and many other genres at guitar licks and riffs.

Just as we posted an item on rhythm changes, another customer wrote us asking about "rhythm changes" improv, so we guess the time is right to learn jazz.  "Rhythm Changes" in jazz lingo are a chord progression based on the chords from Gershwin's tune "I Got Rhythm." Jazz musicians, particularly bebop players, adapted the changes and created many new tunes over the same chord changes.  Learning to play over rhythm changes has become a rite of passage for developing jazz musicians.  Many good instructional titles are available that cover "rhythm changes" improv.
